About Albergue Hostel Villares de Órbigo

ALBERGUE HOSTEL VILLARES DE ÓRBIGO

Albergue Villares de Órbigo is one of the most beautiful albergues along the Camino Francés for pilgrims walking to Santiago de Compostella and is situated in a small village in the valley of the river Órbigo, 276 kilometers from Santiago de Compostela. The town is located between León (35km) and Astorga (16km) and 2km after Hospital de Orbigo.

Villares de Órbigo currently has about 615 inhabitants and includes a church dedicated to Santiago as well as a small health clinic open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, a grocery shop, a pharmacy and two bars and terraces.

Albergue hostel Villares de Órbigo was inaugurated in 2010 by a young Spanish couple, Pablo and Belén who tastefully renovated the 100 year old farmhouse which is constructed around an inviting patio. Since 2021 the albergue is owned by Martin and Merel from the Netherlands who walked several caminos and know exactly what a pilgrim needs after a day of walking.

The patio with bar and terrace invites you for all kind of social activities, meeting your fellow pilgrims, a nice drink (we serve excellent and affordable local wines). The lounge garden is available to relax after your camino.

We serve a communal dinner and breakfast.  We have in total 24 beds divided over 4 private rooms and 2 shared rooms with 6 or 9 beds.

Albergue hostel Villares de Órbigo is open from April 1 st. to September 30 th. from 12:00 to 22:30.
